What will you have to know and do to begin your research?

I am really struggling to come up with an idea for this research paper because I am not in an actual classroom. So far I think the best idea is to utilize what I saw my host teacher. She tried to use Bloomz. What I noticed was this app was not a success in her classroom. She had very few parents sign up to receive notifications. This app helps teachers connect with parents to communicate necessary information.

If I choose this option, I would focus on how it helps to improve the connection between parents and their students. Parent teacher communication is important because many students don’t remember to bring important papers home so important information is not brought home. I want to see if this app increases parent involvement in class field trips and brings more parents into the classroom as parent volunteers.

I would also like to see how this app is used in the classroom besides parent-teacher communication. It can be used to discuss any educational items the classroom needs. Apps like Bloomz can send papers, school updates, newsletters, conference sign-up sheets, and homework.

This research will help me have a better understanding of how to effectively implement a parent-teacher communication app in my own classroom. To successfully do this I will need to make sure I evaluate to see how the use of the app is benefiting my students. If it is not, I need to find something that is a better fit for the classroom.
